Justice Musa Ubale of Jigawa State high court sitting in Birnin Kudu has found one Habibu Haruna guilty of rape and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
The 25-year-old prisoner lives in Basirka town in the state’s Gwaram Local Government Area. It was said that he had forced a 14-year-old girl to cover her lips after luring her into his wife’s room and having intimate knowledge of her.
The prosecution’s attorney produced three exhibits to five witnesses in an effort to establish their case beyond a reasonable doubt.

In accordance with Section 3 Sub-Sections 2 and 4 of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Law, No. 2 Laws of Jigawa State, 2021, the court condemned the guilty party to life in prison.
A 61-year-old man from Auyakawa village in Gwaram LGA was also given a life sentence by the court for sodomizing a 13-year-old child who lived at the same home.
The prosecution counsel presented five witnesses and three exhibits to prove the case against the defendant. The court sentenced him to life imprisonment.
Justice Musa Ubale said the court found the convict guilty of the offence.
