Two people were killed and five other car occupants were injured in a single crash that happened on Saturday morning at around 10:30 am near the Ogere Remo axis of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The cause of the collision, which involved a Toyota Camry with the license plate BDG526JC, was attributed to driving too fast, which caused the car to lose control and flip over.

This was stated in a statement provided to media by Florence Okpe, the Federal Road Safety Corps spokesperson for the Ogun State Sector Command.

According to reports, the deceased’s corpses were placed in the hospital’s morgue, and the injured were transported to Idera Hospital in Sagamu.

The statement partly reads “Another crash has occurred on Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Ogere axis after very claiming 2 lives; 01 female adult and 01 female children.

“The crash occurred at about 1030 hrs, involving 01 vehicles with registration number BDG526JC a Toyota Camry.

“07 Persons were involved in the lone crash (4 female adults, 01 male adult, 01 male children and 01 female children) which 05 persons were injured ( 01 male adults, 01 female children, 01 male children and 02 female adults)

“The cause of this lone crash was excessive speed which led to loss of control and the vehicle somersaulted.

“The injured victims were taken to Idera Hospital,  Sagamu for medical attention and deceased bodies were deposited at the same hospital.
