Traditional Title Holder Kidnapped Near Lafia

A traditional title holder, Alhaji Musa Shuaibu, Madakin Shabu, was allegedly kidnapped by unidentified abductors in Shabu, a border town near Lafia metropolis, around 8:00 pm on Thursday.

The kidnappers, armed and shooting sporadically into the air, created chaos as residents fled for safety.

Witnesses reported that Shuaibu was abducted shortly after the evening prayer (Isha’i) while returning home, a short distance from the mosque.

A worshipper, who chose to remain anonymous, described the kidnappers as “well-armed and ready to kill at the slightest provocation.”

Nasarawa State Police Command spokesman, Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident, stating that efforts are being made to apprehend the kidnappers and rescue Shuaibu unharmed.

“Efforts are ongoing to arrest the criminals and rescue the victim,” Nansel said.
