President Bola Ahmed Tinubu emphasized Nigeria’s dedicated pursuit of German investment in key sectors, focusing on energy, transportation, and electric power production. Speaking with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during the G20 Compact with Africa Economic Conference, Tinubu acknowledged Siemens AG’s success in transforming Egypt’s electric power supply.

Under his leadership, Tinubu pledged to accelerate the Siemens-supported Presidential Power Initiative, emphasizing a more deliberate project execution and the incorporation of Siemens technology for sustainability. 

He expressed commitment to exploring all facets of the Siemens Power project, highlighting the potential for skill development opportunities benefiting Nigerian youth.

Aware of Siemens’ construction of a 2,000km ultra-high-speed rail network in Egypt, Tinubu expressed interest in leveraging Siemens’ expertise to modernize and expand Nigeria’s rail network, doubling the speed of existing standard-gauge systems. 

The German Chancellor showed readiness, acknowledging the need to address administrative and financial challenges stemming from previous administrations in the sector.
