In a meeting with the Progressive Governors Forum, President Bola Tinubu emphasized the need for APC governors to prioritize national interest over political affiliations. He revealed plans to deploy forest guards with advanced training, technology, and weapons to enhance national security.

President Tinubu highlighted the importance of inclusivity, ownership, and sustainability in development policies for their relevance in people’s lives. He addressed the challenge of divisiveness, urging the governing party to work towards healing and unifying the country through a collective national vision.

Tinubu emphasized the nation’s abundant human, natural, and material resources, calling for the re-engineering of the financial system for inclusivity and efficiency. He urged governors to create a comprehensive framework for the school-feeding program, emphasizing its role in promoting education and economic growth.

The President commended Governor Zulum for restoring irrigation systems in Borno State and proposed deploying forest guards, marine police, and special forces to secure the solid mineral and marine economic sectors. Tinubu expressed readiness to invest in security, including purchasing minerals like gold for foreign exchange reserves.

Governor Hope Uzodimma, Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, thanked President Tinubu for involving governors in policy design and implementation, as well as providing financial support to the states.
