Obianuju Udeh, popularly known as DJ Switch, expressed her satisfaction with the recent judgment by the Community Court of Justice of ECOWAS regarding the #EndSARS protest, describing it as a victory.

DJ Switch conveyed her belief that the facts and evidence presented to the court would be incontrovertible, despite facing discouragement along the way.

The ECOWAS court had ordered the Federal Government to compensate DJ Switch, Perpetual Kamsi, and Dabiraoluwa Adeyinka with N2 million each for rights violations during the protest.

Reflecting on the emotional toll and life adjustments they endured, DJ Switch emphasized that the ECOWAS court’s decision had a positive impact. She took to her social media platform on Thursday to share her sentiments:

“After a three-year battle against the Nigerian government at the ECOWAS court, justice was served yesterday! We won! Just like many of you, I’ve had little faith in any branch of service in Nigeria, but the ECOWAS court is the highest court on the continent.”

Acknowledging the prolonged legal process and the challenges they faced from the government, DJ Switch underscored their persistence and patience in pursuing justice.

She expressed gratitude to her legal team for presenting their case effectively and commended the judges for their diligence. The verdict, she noted, legally vindicated their experiences and indicted the Nigerian government for the events of October 20, 2020.

DJ Switch concluded optimistically, stating her readiness to focus on other passions and hoping to share them with her supporters, despite any dissenting voices.

“Naysayers can scream all they want! It is now legally documented in history who the criminals actually were,” she asserted.
