Contrary to circulating reports, Super Eagles goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi, has denied claims of impending internal disciplinary action for alleged misconduct in Moroka Swallow.

An online report disclosed that Akpeyi and teammates were set to face charges.

Akpeyi has however clarified the issue, stating it involves players and management and is being resolved.

Akpeyi criticized the misleading headline, emphasising the unprofessionalism of tying the entire issue around him.

In a conversation with The Guardian, Akpeyi, based in South Africa, shared his perspective, asserting that the matter is not about him facing disciplinary charges but rather a broader dispute.

The reported ‘illegal strike’ accusation by the club’s management resulted in the Premier Soccer League canceling their fixture against Mamelodi Sundowns on December 27, just hours before kick-off. The ongoing resolution process aims to address the issues between the players and the management.
