Harrison Jalla, the Chairman of the Task Force of the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN), has called on the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, and his board members to resign if the team fails to perform.

Jalla expressed his disappointment with the team coach, Jose Peseiro, for his outdated 4-2-4 formation during the match against the Crocodiles of Lesotho, which resulted in a close call for the Eagles.

The Eagles were scheduled to travel to Butare, Rwanda, yesterday for their match against Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe managed to salvage a point in their match against Rwanda on Wednesday.

An angry Jalla stated that anything less than a win against Zimbabwe would eliminate the Eagles from the race to the 2026 World Cup hosted by the USA/Canada/Mexico.

Jalla said, “Gusau and his board members should be prepared to step down if the result against Zimbabwe is not in our favor. Nigerians are holding them accountable for the poor situation the Super Eagles find themselves in. Coach Jose Peseiro is a burden inherited from the previous board, and I expected the current board to have sacked him by now.”

A former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Alloy Agu, advised the players to forget about their disappointing draw against Lesotho and focus on their upcoming match against Zimbabwe. Agu emphasized that dwelling on the past would be counterproductive.

The Zimbabwe Warriors camp is reportedly facing a crisis due to unpaid allowances. The team plays their home matches in Rwanda and will face the Super Eagles at Huye Stadium in Butare.

In their first game, the Warriors held Rwanda to a goalless draw. The players are unhappy with the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) Normalisation Committee for not paying their daily allowances and are demanding compensation for the draw against Rwanda.
