It’s in your interest that Sowore unharmed, Ezekwesili tells Buhari
NEWS DIGEST–Former presidential candidate, Oby Ezekwesili has warned President Muhammadu Buhari that it is in his interest that Omoyele Sowore, the convener of #RevolutionNow protest is not harmed while in the detention of the Department of State Services.
Via her verified Twitter handle, the former minister condemned the rearrest of Sowore and asked Buhari to direct the DSS Director General, Yusuf Bichi, to obey the court order on Sowore’s release.

She said, “It is in the interest of @MBuhari that @YeleSowore comes to no form of bodily, mental or emotional harm. As the supervisor of the State Security Service, I demand that the President instructs the DG to immediately comply with the court order. Release Sowore immediately.”
Ezekwesili went on to say that Nigerians should be “reasonable” enough to know that the incidence of Sowore’s rearrest in a courtroom was an aggression against the judiciary arm of government by the executive.
She said, “I urge my fellow citizens who are reasonable enough to know that today’s episode amounts to full aggression against the Judiciary by the Executive arm of @MBuhari and portends an extremely dangerous development. We must all stand to defend our hard-won democracy.”
Sowore was on Friday rearrested by operatives of the DSS at the federal high court in Abuja after the court had adjourned his case to next year and was hearing another case.
The action of the DSS had been condemned by Nigerians.
