Vice-President Kashim Shettima has pledged that the federal government will implement fresh tactics to tackle kidnapping, armed banditry, and other security issues across the nation.

The Vice President made this statement following a private meeting he had on Saturday at his Daura, Katsina State, home with former President Muhammadu Buhari.

This guarantee was given the day after Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda pleaded with the federal government to send additional troops and supplies to the state to help it through the difficult period of ceaseless banditry attacks.

Shettima declared that all the resources and knowledge required to bring security and long-lasting peace to the impacted areas would be made available by the federal government.

He urged Nigerians to keep praying for and supporting the Tinubu administration, saying that in spite of the country’s economic difficulties, the administration was committed to keeping its campaign promises to the people.

Upon reaching the Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport in Katsina, the Vice President was greeted by the governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, along with other high-ranking state officials.

In addition, the Vice President honored the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar, at his palace in Daura. Accompanying him were the Ministers of Agriculture and Food Security, Alhaji Abubakar Kyari, and Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu, and former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha.
