The Vice President, Sen Kashim Shettima, has lost his stepmother, Mrs Hauwa Kormi, in the early hours of Thursday.

In a statement released on Thursday in Abuja, Stanley Nkwocha, the Spokesman of the Vice-President, conveyed the news of Kormi’s passing.
The 69-year-old succumbed to a long-standing illness, leaving behind a legacy of five children, numerous stepchildren, and grandchildren.
Nkwocha further revealed that the Janaiza (burial) ceremony is set to take place at 4 pm in Shettimari, Lawan Bukar, Maiduguri, Borno State.

“May the Almighty Allah forgive her shortcomings and admit her to Jannatul Firdaus, amen.”
