NEWS DIGEST– In an official announcement, Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, has approved the appointment of Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye as the new Soun-elect of Ogbomoso land.

The decision comes following the passing of the immediate past Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi, who joined his ancestors on December 12, 2021.

Governor Makinde conveyed this appointment through a statement issued by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Olusegun Olayiwola.

In the statement, he urges the citizens of Ogbomoso to unite and collaborate with the newly chosen monarch, emphasizing the importance of building upon the accomplishments of his predecessors.

His Excellency extends his congratulations to the Soun-elect as he assumes his rightful place on the throne of his ancestors.
