Seplat Petroleum Company Plc and its joint venture partners, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and subsisidary, the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), have made additional donations to Edo, Delta and Imo state governments, respectively. These donations have been given to help the states fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Edo and Delta received 25 hospital beds and a transport ventilator each. Imo state received 25 hospitals beds, sanitary buckets, 300 pieces of alcohol-based hand sanitisers, infrarer thermometeres, 300 pieces N95 face masks, gloves, organic soap and a transport ventilator.

These donations were done in addition to the motorised sprayers, knapsack sprayers, protective goggle, hand sanitizers, face masks, temperature guns, chemical gloves and personal protective equipment, which had been donated to these three states in April, 2020.

The medical equipment were presented to the Edo and Delta state governments by the western assets base manager, Emmanuel Otokhine, on behalf of the company.

Governor Godwin Obaseki, was represented by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Patrick Okundia, who received the donations on behalf of the state government, at the Stella Obasanjo Hospital, Benin.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, was represented by Dr. Austin Obidi, who is the Chairman at Delta State Hospitals Management Board. Dr. Austin Obidi received the donations on behalf of the government.

In Imo state, Emeka Onyeagba, the Eastern assets base manager at SEPLAT, presented the donations to Imo Deputy governor, Professor Placid Njoku, on behalf of the company.
