Saraki: Senate constitutes committee to meet Buhari

NEWS DIGEST – The Nigerian Senate has formed a commitee to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari over the alleged plan to implicate the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

The Committee will be led by the Senate President himself.

It would be recalled that The News Digest reported that the Senate President had raised an observation alleging that he has become a target of victimization.

The Senate President alleged that some cult members were arrested in Ilorin and are been transfered to Abuja with the aim of getting statements out of them that he is sponsoring the cultusts.

Senators who contributed to the discussion suggested that a committee from all geopolitical zones in the Country should be raised to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari

Senator Emmanuel Bwacha said: “I was humbled when I learned about the plot against SP,

@bukolasaraki , i agree with my colleague that we should constitute a committee to meet with the President.”

Senator Olushola Adeyeye also suggested a committee of seven people which will include a Chairman from each geo-political zones should be formed  while Senator Sam Anyanwu opined that the issue must be looked at thoroughly because according to him ‘democracy cannot be ridiculed’

The Senate resolved that the Senate President should lead a delegation to relay the concerns raised on the floor by Saraki to President Muhammadu Buhari.

The delegation would consist of the Senate President, the Senate Leader, Senator Ahmad Lawan; the Chief Whip, Senator Olusola Adeyeye; and the Minority Leader,

Senator Godswill Akpabio.

Other members of the delegation would included Senator Danjuma Goje, Senator Sam Anyanwu, Senator Aliyu, Wammako, Senator Fatima Raji Rasaki, and Senator

Oluremi Tinubu.
