Several schools have declared their intention to participate in the upcoming private school swimming competition, scheduled to take place tomorrow in Lagos. A total of 11 schools, including reigning champions Grange School, have received certification for the tournament. The event is organized by Dynaspro Promotions Limited in collaboration with Advanta Interactive Limited, with technical support from the Nigeria Aquatics Federation and Lagos State Swimming Association.

Aside from Grange School, the participating schools consist of Atlantic Hall, Meadow Hall, St Saviour’s Children International School (CIS), Lagos Preparatory and Secondary School (LPS), Lagoon/Whitesands, Greensprings Lagos, Riverbank, Italian Priory, and Boken Aquatics Club. The inclusion of the Boken Aquatics Club adds further excitement to the competition this year.

Notably, the tournament holds the official sanction of both the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) and the Nigeria School Sport Federation (NSSF). It is worth mentioning that the competition produced a majority of the medallists at the previous National Sports Festival held in Delta State.

Oluseyi Oyebode, the coordinator of the tournament, expressed his enthusiasm for the growing interest shown by schools and revealed that it has inspired the organizers to continuously improve and innovate the competition each season. Oyebode stated, “We are thrilled that in such a short period, the tournament has already produced national champions. Many of the medallists from the last National Sports Festival are products of the Dolphin Swimming League. This has motivated us to aim for even greater success.”

He further added, “The increasing participation of schools has led us to elevate the standard of the tournament through top-notch officiating and inspiring performances from the swimmers. We are delighted to welcome new schools like Atlantic Hall to the league, and we remain hopeful that more schools will join us as the league progresses this season.”

Oyebode emphasized the unwavering support of the major sponsor, Rite Foods, in ensuring the success of this season’s championships. With such dedication and the rising enthusiasm among the schools, Lagos’ first private school swimming competition promises to be a thrilling and memorable event for all involved.
