Saliu Mustapha: The Bridge Builder APC South East caucus needs to back, by Michael Adenegan

NEWS DIGEST – I know you might be wondering why i used the word “Bridge Builder”. Well, We are not talking of the builder of Second Niger Bridge but in retrospect, the person that will move the South-East region forward politically and also bring more developmental strides to the region among all the contenders for the National Chairmanship of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

If you go through Saliu Mustapha’s excellent experience in our political sphere. Having being one of the leading lights of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) as well as the Deputy National Chairman of the defunct CPC, you will agree with me that he’s one person who can amend the wrongdoings of the previous pilots of the party based on his experience in party administration.

The political crisis and party apathy in the South East region is a major concern for the party especially progressives in the region, despite the presence of numerous achievements done in the region by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC administration.

APC members in the region want a party chairman that can come to their aid in restoring the glory of the region politically, ensuring the region remains a critical stakeholder in the decision making of our great country Nigeria, also positioning the region for more developmental progress and uniting the region with others to move the country forward.

Empathy is needed in governance as such, the leading aspirant in the person of Saliu Mustapha possesses such attributes which will be beneficial to the party and the region.

The political persecution being meted on our members across the region can be halted if the party leadership is headed by someone who cares, listens attentively to people and is also a friend of the region “with no PDP background”.

Though some people in the region are still sympathetic to the PDP but others in the region know that it never had the interest of the region at heart as they have experienced countless empty promises from the party, leaving the region in retrogression.

Having said all these, you will agree with me that the “onye na-ewu akwa mmiri”(Brigde Builder) the region needs is Saliu Mustapha.

Besides he speaks Igbo fluently and is to ‘Do it Differently.’
