El-Rufai Diverted N423 Billion, Marginalized South Kaduna: Shehu Sani

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has accused former Governor Nasir El-Rufai of marginalizing Southern Kaduna throughout his eight-year tenure.

Speaking at a Sallah dinner, Sani claimed that El-Rufai relegated Southern Kaduna residents to “boys’ quarters” and failed to involve them in state affairs.

He made these remarks while reacting to allegations that El-Rufai’s administration diverted N423 billion in funds.

He said, “The Southern Kaduna people fought El-Rufai Government to a standstill and never compromised but the people of Zone two and three were busy applauding him even when he was stealing their monies with his cronies.”

Shehu enjoined the people to fight anybody kicking against the State House of Assembly Ad’hoc committee probing the alleged N423 billion diverted funds by El-Rufai.

He stated that the State House of Assembly Ad’hoc committee needs the support and prayers to remain focused and do a thorough job.

He said that when they speak, people would say it was Governor Uba Sani that signed the loan, asking that when he signed the loan did he say the money should be stolen?

Shehu explained that if not because of the investigation there was no way the people of Kaduna State would know that their money was stolen.

He explained that despite the humongous loan, people’s houses were demolished, civil servants were sacked in thousands and the people of Kaduna State subjected to all kinds of hardship.

He noted that the war is not only for the government of Kaduna State but for all citizens in the state.
