Rivers crisis: I’m most abused gov, but I want peace’ – Fubara

Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has described himself as the most abused person in the state but urged residents to remain calm and maintain peace.

Fubara’s remarks came amid his ongoing conflict with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. The two have been clashing over political control and state resources.

Despite President Bola Tinubu’s attempts to mediate, the tension persists.

Fubara declared that his political rivals are now defeated and restless.

Speaking during the flag-off of the Elele-Omoku Road construction on Thursday, Fubara said, “I am the most abused, ‘mumu governor wey no know wetin to do with power,’ Is it not?” He emphasized his commitment to peace despite the provocations.

“Have I said anything? So, please just endure until when you finish you go your way, I don’t want any trouble.”

The governor vowed never to allow his detractors to cause political tension in the state.

Fubara disclosed assuring Tinubu that he would take the path of peace and not renege on the promise.
