The House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs has summoned Ibrahim Lamuwa, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The invite is to address allegations of sexual harassment brought against him by Simisola Ajayi, an aide to Minister Yusuf Tuggar.

The accusations, detailed in a petition filed by Ajayi’s legal representative Femi Falana, SAN, allege that Lamuwa made inappropriate advances towards Ajayi during a retreat on October 7, 2023, related to President Bola Tinubu’s 4D policy review.

Lamuwa reportedly suggested Ajayi visit his room after she opted not to stay at the hotel, a proposition she declined due to her responsibilities as a nursing mother.

Minister Tuggar has notified the Head of Service of the Federation about the allegations, emphasizing the need for a formal inquiry.
