The coach of Rangers International FC of Enugu, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has given the team’s supporters hope that they can win again after suffering a 2-0 loss to Bendel Insurance in Benin City.

This was said in a statement made on Monday in Enugu by club communications officer Norbert Okolie.

The coach was hopeful that his team would recover in the upcoming game, which is scheduled to take place at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu against Gombe United.

Rangers fell to Bendel Insurance 2-0 in their Nigeria Premier Football League encounter on day 17.

According to Ilechukwu, the loss could have been avoided given the degree of preparation for the game; nonetheless, a few errors from his backline exceeded all expectations.

“Football has come to show that no team is a small team, and we came to Benin with full optimism to get an excellent result.

“We failed to achieve our set targets as we lost the match, and we returned home to prepare for our next match to ensure we bounced back to winning ways.

“It has been a challenging season, but we are working hard to ensure that we rediscover our winning formula,” Ilechukwu said.

Rangers, with 22 points from 16 games, are still in ninth place in the league. They will play Gombe United on match day 18, which is scheduled for January 14, 2024.
