Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has cautioned President Bola Tinubu against politicizing the new national minimum wage.

Primate Ayodele advised Tinubu to prioritize price control instead of dividing labor over their demands.

He argued that without effective price management, the hardship faced by Nigerians would continue even after implementing the new minimum wage.

In a statement released by his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Primate Ayodele emphasized that simply increasing the minimum wage would not alleviate hardship unless the prices of commodities are controlled.

Ayodele said, ‘’Tinubu must not play with the worker’s minimum wage. Their initial request was too much but they have come down to a reasonable level now and I want to advise President Tinubu not to play politics with it by trying to divide them.

‘’However, let there be price control because without it, minimum wage is zero no matter the amount.’’

While Organized labor is requesting N250,000 from the Nigerian Government, the FG representatives has suggested N62,000.

However, state governors have expressed concerns that they cannot afford to pay a minimum wage of N62,000.
