NEWS DIGEST– President Ahmed Bola Tinubu is set to serve as the Special Guest of Honour at the upcoming Green Economy Summit and unveiling of the Niger State Green Economy Blueprint in Minna, the Niger State capital. 

The Chairman of the Communications Committee for the Summit, Aliyu Umar, confirmed that the Green Economy Blueprint would provide essential guidance for the state’s developmental decisions.

Scheduled for October 24th and 25th, 2023, the two-day Green Economy Summit will revolve around the theme, “Sustainable future: Harnessing green assets innovation for Niger State’s development.” With anticipated participation from at least 500 attendees across an array of global backgrounds, the summit will focus on finding solutions and conducting discussions regarding substantial issues like decarbonizing energy systems, circular economy, waste management, green agriculture, food security, eco-tourism, and community development among others.

The event, designed to strategically align with the United Nations International Day for Climate Action, is expected to draw international and local investors in green assets trading, green technologies, renewable energy projects, and sustainable financing initiatives. 

Among the speakers at the highly awaited event include minister of Environment, Dr Iziaq Adekunle Salako, Development and Environmental Experts, Engr Sufyan Danjuma Ibrahim, Eser Tumen from Tumen Holding’s Administrative, Finance, and Operations Departments, President of Worldwide Energy (WWE), Dr Jahan Moghadam, Co-founder & Chairman of Worldwide Solutions, Dr Nsikan-George, and Dr Abe Moghadam.
