On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu will commemorate Armed Forces Day and the nation’s 50th anniversary of independence in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, alongside other heads of state and government.

This was stated in a statement released on Wednesday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, by Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity.

He stated that the president would travel to Bissau on Thursday to attend the event, which Guinea-Bissau’s President Umaro Embalo is hosting.

Although Guinea-Bissau celebrated its 50th anniversary of independence on September 24, all festivities were originally planned for November 16 by the government.

On Thursday, President Tinubu is anticipated to return to Nigeria.
