Premier League clubs are set to vote regarding the potential elimination of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system.

This decision will be made during their annual general meeting, with Wolves spearheading the initiative due to numerous grievances over the system’s application.

The 2023/2024 season witnessed several high-profile errors attributed to VAR, including a failure to award a legitimate goal for Liverpool in their match against Tottenham.

Introduced at the start of the 2019/2020 season, VAR has been a constant source of debate.

For the proposal to pass, it requires at least 14 out of the 20 clubs to vote in favor.

However, according to the UK Mirror, Wolves are unlikely to secure the necessary support, and VAR is expected to remain in use.
