First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, says politicking has given way for the dreams of the country’s founding fathers to materialise.
She spoke, yesterday, when wives of the newly inaugurated ministers visited her at the State House, Abuja, as her pet project, Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), finalised arrangement to donate N1 million to each family of the 500 displaced in Mangu, Plateau State.
Pointing out that because women play a critical role in bringing healing to the nation, RHI plans to reach out to the displaced people of Mangu.
“Our colonial masters saw a prospect in Nigeria; hence, they brought all of us together. It is time for that prospect to materialise now.

“When we build lives, we are actually building our nation. Politics is over. Every state we want to really affect, we go in there because it is our state. Nigeria belongs to all of us. When we want to begin politics, everybody will go back to their own tents; but right now, Nigeria is more important than any party or political affiliation.”
At the occasion, the First Lady highlighted some of the achievements of the initiative within the first 100 days of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to include award of scholarships to 43 Nigerians in tertiary institutions, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training and empowerment of women within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
“We have so much work to do together. I expect you all to be available to assist with the work.
“There is no gainsaying that families need a better life. But how do we go about it? Turning lives around is very important,” she said.
She urged the ministers’ wives to continue to support their husbands and make them proud at all times.
Leader of the team and wife of the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Susan Lokpobiri, appealed to the First Lady to give room for participation of the forum in all RHI activities through capacity utilisation.
She said: “We will continue to support your dreams for Nigeria and support the President in the Renewed Hope Agenda for Nigeria.”
