At least eight people have been confirmed killed in a renewed clash between Kutep and Fulani pastoralists in Kwe Sati and Fikye communities in Ussa Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The police public relations officer in the state, Abdullahi Usman, who confirmed the killings to our correspondent, however, said the casualty figures might be higher.
While assuring that investigations were still ongoing, the police spokesperson said the recent incident was as a result of a “lingering feud” between the pastorilists and the Kutep tribe.

“There was a communal clash between the Kuteps and Fulani. The incident happened last week, and at least eight people were confirmed dead.
“There was another attack which I can’t confirm the casualty figures at the moment because the investigation is still ongoing,” Mr Usman said.
The police spokesman also disclosed that normalcy has returned to the area and people have begun returning to their homes.
Meanwhile, the chairman of Ussa Local Government, Abershi Musa, has resigned from his position.
He accused the state government of failing to take action over the killings of Kutep by suspected Fulani pastoralists in the local community.
