Delta State Police Command operatives have raided a criminal hideout in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area, as part of their ongoing efforts to combat crime and criminal activities in the area.

The command reported that it had received an intelligence report on the whereabouts of some suspected kidnappers who have been terrorizing Ughelli, Agbarho, Warri, Sapele, and the surrounding areas in the bush at Uwurghelli village by the rail tracks from a concerned vigilante member in Agbarho (name withheld).

Following the intelligence, Josephine Ekebuike, the Divisional Police Officer of the Agbarho Police Division, quickly led police officers to the bush, cordoned off the entire area, and conducted a search during which sack bags were discovered concealed in the bush.

Three AK-49 rifles, two AK-47 rifles, and 207 rounds of live 7.62mm ammunition were found during the search of the sack bags.

As a result, the command has started a manhunt for the alleged kidnappers who are on the run.

Olufemi Abaniwonda, the Commissioner of Police, meanwhile, praised the Agbarho Division’s DPO and soldiers for their swift reaction to the intelligence.

“Police-community partnership is the best for optimal results,” the police boss said.
