In October, the Police Command in Katsina State apprehended 134 suspected offenders for a variety of offenses committed throughout the state.

This was said by Aliyu Abubakar-Musa, the Commissioner of Police, at a briefing for reporters on Wednesday in Katsina.

Via the command’s public relations officer, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, Abubakar-Musa stated that the suspects were taken into custody on charges of armed robbery, kidnapping, cattle rustling, and culpable homicide.

Others, he said, were arrested over alleged rape, possession of illicit drugs, intimidation, incitement and belonging to criminal gangs, among others.

According to him, 72 out of the 75 cases reported to the police across the state have been charged to court.

The commissioner also stated that during the month, 23 kidnapped victims were freed, and among other things, a motorcycle, six rounds of live ammo, and a revolver were found.

In order to help the police and other security agencies apprehend offenders anywhere in the state, Abubakar-Musa pleaded with the people to supply them with timely and relevant information.
