An autopsy report on the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba popularly known as Mohbad has been released, shedding light on the potential cause of his death.

The autopsy, performed at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), involved retrieving samples of MohBad’s gastric content, blood, bone marrow, liver, kidney, and lung for a toxicology test.

The report notes that MohBad had an injury on his right forearm and that his body was exhumed in a state of moderate to severe decomposition.

The toxicology findings revealed the presence of Diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, but not in a concentration considered fatal or lethal.

The report suggests a possible drug reaction or anaphylactic shock as the cause of death.

It also mentions that the body was not embalmed before burial and was exhumed eight days later, which may have influenced the toxicology results.
The report said: “Following the Order for Exhumation, the body was exhumed on 21/09/2023 (8 days after the burial)………..in the light of the foregoing, cause of death could not be ascertained.

“However, the possibility of a fatal anaphylactic shock (drug reaction) could be considered in view of the absence of any significant post mortem and toxicology findings.”

Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day.

A swift police investigation identified the auxiliary nurse as the prime suspect in his death.

Feyisayo Ogedengbe admitted to administering the injection after Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, disclosed that his son died shortly after receiving it.

According to Lagos State Police Commissioner Idowu Owohunwa, the nurse administered multiple potent injections, including tetanus toxoid, paracetamol, and ceftriaxone (IV), at Mohbad’s residence.
