Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, expressed concern about Nigeria’s recent negative impact on its reputation and appeal to international institutions and investors.

Speaking on Wednesday, Obi reacted to Nigeria’s exclusion from the Harvard Business School’s class of 2025 program, which selected sixteen countries for its global immersion course.

Obi highlighted the irony of Nigeria’s omission despite the program being led by a Nigerian professor, emphasizing the country’s untapped potential and capabilities.

The initiative focused on Kenya, Rwanda, Morocco, and Ghana as African countries for immersive learning in leadership, teamwork, and cross-cultural understanding.

“Hopefully, Nigeria will take note of these deficiencies and work towards enhancing its reputation and attractiveness in the global community,” Obi remarked. “This underscores the challenge of building a new Nigeria that remains achievable.”
