The collapse of Saint Academy School building in Jos, Plateau State, has prompted heartfelt condolences from both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the death toll climbs to 22.

The incident occurred on Friday morning in the Busa Buji community of Jos North Local Government Area, leaving 154 others injured, according to Musa Ashoms, the state Commissioner for Information.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the PDP expressed deep sadness over the loss of young lives and extended sympathies to Governor Caleb Mutfwang, families of the victims, and the injured.

The party lauded Governor Mutfwang for his prompt actions in coordinating search, rescue, and emergency response efforts.

Similarly, the APC conveyed its condolences through its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, describing the collapse as “unbearably heartbreaking.”

The party emphasized the urgent need for strict enforcement of building standards to avert future tragedies.

The collapse, occurring during school hours, has ignited national mourning and renewed calls for enhanced safety measures in educational institutions nationwide.
