2023: Osinbajo Organization appoints ex-Kano deputy governor as national coordinator

NEWS DIGEST – A former deputy governor of Kano State, Hafiz Abubakar, has been appointed as the national coordinator, Osinbajo Support Organization, OSO for 2023 presidential election.

Mr Abubakar, a professor, alongside other officials of the group, were unveiled at a strategic meeting of the organisation, held at Kwanar Maggi in Kano on Saturday.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that different groups that support the presidency of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, stormed Kano from different parts of the country to attend the event.

Speaking at the meeting, the group’s director of Planning and Strategy, Bashir Suwaid, said no fewer than 45 Osinbajo support groups attended the event for formal unveiling of the OSO structure.

According to him, other Osibanjo support groups in diaspora also attended the meeting virtually.

Mr Suwaid explained at the meeting that the OSO structure, headed by Mr Abubakar, was unveiled, adding that the group also had officials from the six geopolitical zones.

“Most of these group started from social media. We decided to take it beyond social media to make it concrete and formal with a bid to champion the candidature of Professor Yemi Osinbajo and support him to become Nigeria’s President come 2023.

“As you can see, 45 groups have come here from various parts of this country for formal unveiling of OSO structure, which a former deputy governor of Kano State, Professor Hafiz Abubakar, emerging as the national coordinator,” he explained

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the structure of the OSO starts from National Coordinator then Director Planning, Legal Adviser, Director Finance and Resource Mobilization, Director Contact and Mobilization, Director Media and Communication and Director Administration.

Others include Zonal Coordinators South, North, West and East, while others include States and Local Government Coordinators of the group nationwide.

The attendees at the meeting vowed to support Mr Osinbajo to become the next president of the country.

According to them, the Vice President is the most suitable heir to President Muhammadu Buhari’s throne in view of his intellect, loyalty and unflinching support to the current administration.

They also noted that Mr Osinbajo had helped Mr Buhari’s administration to improve economy and security in the country.
