A sad incident occurred at the NYSC orientation camp in Ise-Emure, Ekiti State, where scores of corps members sustained injuries due to the collapse of a section of the female hostel wall.

According to reports on Friday, the incident happened as corps members were preparing for their morning routines.

Fortunately, immediate rescue efforts helped retrieve those affected from the rubble, and they have since been stabilized and are receiving medical care at the camp’s clinic.

An NYSC official confirmed the incident, assuring the public that only a few corps members were involved and that they are being properly attended to.

“The wall of one of the female hostels collapsed this morning (Friday). It was the bathroom wall which caved in when they were planning to take their bath.

“But thank God, people rushed down there to retrieve them from the rubble. They have been stabilized at the clinic, and they will get further medical treatments,” a source said.
