In preparation for the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has intensified security measures in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Dr. Olusola Odumosu, the FCT Commandant of the NSCDC, announced the deployment of 5,112 personnel across the state to safeguard residents and visitors during the festive period.

The deployment covers all six area councils, the city center, and other crucial locations vulnerable to criminal activities. “The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Capital Territory Command, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, has deployed 5,112 personnel to beef up security in the FCT, before and during the Sallah celebration,” stated the command spokesperson, Samuel Idoko, on Thursday.

Dr. Odumosu emphasized the importance of adhering to operational guidelines to maintain professionalism and public trust. NSCDC will collaborate closely with other security agencies to provide comprehensive security coverage at prayer grounds, motor parks, recreational centers, and other public venues throughout the Eid festivities.

“You are to ensure 24-hour protection of all these infrastructures and the holidaymakers in the city. We must show commitment in the discharge of our duties as law enforcers,” Odumosu admonished the personnel. He also urged residents to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activities promptly to ensure a secure and enjoyable Sallah celebration in the FCT.
