NSCDC arrests bandits, illegal miners, phone snatchers, others in Nasarawa

NEWS DIGEST – The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC has arrested thirty-five suspected criminals in the state.

Addressing the press at the command headquarters Lafia, the state commandant, Mamud fari, said five among the suspected criminals are illegal miners.

Mr Fari further stated that seven are suspected hired killers who confessed to have killed nine persons in the state.

Others include a syndicate of six vandals who vandalized 109 railway sleepers and 6 Transformer-Arts in Tudun Kauri, lafia.

Mr Fari also stated that another syndicate of five, who specialized in snatching motorcycles in the state were also arrested along with five motorcycles and another three-man syndicate of handsets theft were arrested with 27 cellular phones and laser jet printer.

He further stated that another eight illegal miners were also arrested along with their generator, drilling machine, 10 shovels and other working equipments.

While warning other bandits in the state to either surrender or relocate, Mr Fari assured that the arrested ones would be charge to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
