The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted thunderstorms and rain across the country from Monday to Wednesday.

In its weather outlook released on Sunday in Abuja, NiMet predicted morning thunderstorms for parts of Taraba, Adamawa, Zamfara, Kebbi, Katsina, Kano, and Kaduna states.

Later in the day, these storms are expected to extend to areas in Taraba, Kaduna, Yobe, Katsina, Kano, Borno, Bauchi, and Jigawa states.

For the North Central region, NiMet anticipates morning rain in parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Niger, and Nasarawa states. By the afternoon and evening, thunderstorms and rain are expected in the FCT, Niger, Kwara, Plateau, and Kogi states.

The southern regions, including Lagos, Abia, Ebonyi, Ondo, Ogun, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River, should prepare for morning drizzle and rain, with intermittent rain anticipated throughout the afternoon and evening.

On Tuesday, NiMet expects morning thunderstorms in Adamawa, Taraba, Kaduna, Gombe, Katsina, Kano, Bauchi, Yobe, Borno, and Jigawa states.

In the North Central region, rain is forecasted for the FCT, Benue, and Kogi states in the morning, with thunderstorms and rain later in the day over the FCT, Plateau, Nasarawa, Niger, Kogi, Kwara, and Benue states.

The southern regions will likely experience morning rain in Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom states, with thunderstorms and intermittent rain in the afternoon and evening.

On Wednesday, morning thunderstorms are expected in Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara states, with continued storms throughout the day in these areas.

North Central states like Niger and Kwara will see morning rain, followed by thunderstorms and rain in the afternoon and evening in Plateau, Nasarawa, the FCT, Kogi, Kwara, and Benue states.

The southern regions should anticipate morning rain in Cross River and Akwa Ibom, with intermittent rain in the afternoon and evening.
