My dream is to be Nigeria’s AGF, says 23-year-old first-class accounting graduate

NEWS DIGEST – Nigeria’s Aisha Salihu has made history as she sets record of graduating with a first-class honours in accounting from El-Razi University, Khartoum, Sudan.

Aisha, 23, who hails from Lafia, Nasarawa State graduated with a final CGPA of 3.7 on a 4 points scale in the department of Business Administration in the institution.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s ambassador to Sudan, Alhaji Musa Mamman Saban who was at the convocation ceremony, expressed his appreciation over Ms Aisha’s achievement.

The Ambassador noted that it’s a welcome development having ladies, especially from Northern Nigeria, not only competing with their male counterparts at home, but also achieving such a great milestone abroad.

Speaking with the News Digest, Ms Aisha disclosed that her biggest prayer is to become Nigeria’s Accountant General of the Federation, AGF, one day.

She added that her dream has always been that of becoming a chartered accountant, though she said she never thought it could be achieved with a first class.

She, therefore, thanked her parents for their sacrifice towards sponsoring her study in Sudan.

In another development, five more of Ms Aisha’s schoolmates – all ladies – have equally completed their studies in Medicine from the same institution.

The News Digest reports that Ms Aisha, alongside her schoolmates in the picture below are all from Nasarawa state.
