Samuel Chukwueze, a winger from Nigeria, scored AC Milan’s first goal in their UEFA Champions League encounter against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday in San Siro.

After 37 minutes, Chukwueze produced a brilliant solo effort to go past two BVB players and blast a low shot into the bottom corner to tie the score for Rossoneri on the night.

Milan had a previous opportunity to take the lead, but Gregor Kobel denied Olivier Giroud in the sixth minute, and he missed his penalties.

In the tenth minute, Marco Reus scored the first goal with a penalty of his own, curling the ball into the upper-left corner.

Former Super Eagles captain, Austin Okocha, had earlier backed Chukwueze to succeed at the club despite his slow start to his Rossoneri career.

After five successful seasons with Villarreal in Spain, Chukwueze, 24, joined AC Milan over the summer. However, he has so far been gradually assimilated into Stefano Pioli’s squad.

The Atlanta 1996 Olympic gold medallist and 1994 African Cup of Nations champion thinks the Nigerian international has everything he needs to succeed at the San Siro.

Speaking with LiveScore, Okocha said, “He’s been outstanding in the last few years now. He’s been faced with a new challenge and it’s all about how quickly he can adjust.

“Language is always important because it’s always good to be able to communicate but his talent is never in doubt. I think he’s a great addition to the Milan team and I have no doubt that he will do well.”
