The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is set to receive 50 new aircraft over the next two years.

During a courtesy visit to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri in Adamawa State on Friday, Chief of Air Staff Air Vice Marshal Hassan Bala announced that the state would soon see an increase in air power with the arrival of advanced fighter jets.

He acknowledged the ongoing security issues in Adamawa, such as kidnapping, armed robbery, and the activities of the Shilla Boys, and reaffirmed NAF’s commitment to addressing these challenges.

He said the aircraft will be distributed across various NAF formations nationwide, including those in Adamawa State adding the new planes aim to bolster efforts to combat insecurity in the northeast and throughout Nigeria.

Governor Fintiri praised the collaboration between the Nigerian Air Force and the state government in ensuring safety and reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting and cooperating with security agencies.

He also emphasized the need for the swift reconstruction of the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Gombi and Madagali local government areas to expedite the completion of these crucial projects.
