NEWS DIGEST – The Niger Tornadoes FC of Minna on Sunday played another goalless draw with the visiting Bendel Insurance FC of Benin in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) at the Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium in Minna.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the result made it three consecutive goalless draws for Tornadoes since the abridged league started on Jan. 3.

Tornadoes had earlier played goalless against Rivers United and Remo Stars.

Playing impressive football against the visiting Insurance of Benin and earning  a penalty kick, the Minna boys squandered all opportunities.

The referee, M. Sani,  awarded the spot kick to the host on the stroke of 26 minutes, after an infringement call against Insurance player in their goal area.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Tornadoes’ Isah Azado,  fluffed the opportunity.

Insurance thereafter continued to contain their opponents,  frustrating all their attacks, until the end of the pulsating encounter.

Both Tornadoes and Insurance remained on three points.

NAN, however, reports that some Tornadoes fans, angry about the team’s performance, threw  objects onto the field. (NAN)
