Exclusive: New APC Chairman in Kwara speaks on dissolution of former council, Saraki’s fate in Party

NEWS DIGEST – Mr Bolarinwa Bashir, the newly endorsed Caretaker committee chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Kwara state has spoken on the decision of the national Working committee of the party led by comrade Adams Oshiomole to dissolve the Kwara state party leadership loyal to Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

In an exclusive chat with The NEWS DIGEST, he spoke about the reasons why the National leadership of the party took the decision to dissolve the All Progressives Congress leadership recognized by Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

According to him, it is obvious that Senator Saraki is no longer in the All Progressives Congress rather he is interested in holding down the party structure of the state.

“It is obvious that the Senate President is no longer in our party (APC) he and his people have been announcing before now that they will leave the party, it is clear they want to hold down the party structure which the national leadership cannot allow “.

When asked if that is why the National leadership dissolved the Saraki Recognized Council , he said “That is one of the many reasons”.

Mr Bashir also spoke on the rejection of the dissolution by the dissolved council ,he said:

“Anybody can decide to reject anything but what right do they have to reject the decision of the National working committee, they can decide to do anything about that but the decision has been made already” he said.

The National working Committee endorsed chairman said efforts are in place to bring members from all corners of the state into the party.

“Some members of the Saraki Caucus are not happy that they are defecting to People’s Democratic Party and they have decided to stay with us and many other members too like that”.

Mr Bashir said left to him Mr Saraki should be expelled from the party.

“Left to me the Senate President will be expelled but that decision is left for the National leadership to make”.

The All Progressives Congress National working committee had announced the dissolution of the Saraki recognized All Progressives Congress leadership citing anomalies in the primary election that produced the party leaders, this came as the Senate President is accused of been behind mass defections from the ruling party to the People’s Democratic Party.
