Out of the 29 cases filed, according to Mr. Idris-Ahmad, the NDLEA successfully prosecuted 18 drug dealers and users in the last three months, while 132 other cases were still pending.

“The NDLEA sensitised more than 4,000 individuals, students, traditional rulers and security personnel on drug abuse prevention, and successfully rehabilitated 22 users struggling with drug dependence.

“The agency plays a pivotal role in safeguarding public health, ensuring economic stability, and enhancing the nation’s international reputation,’’ Mr Idris-Ahmad said.

He urged people to contact the NDLEA with pertinent and relevant information on drug misuse and trafficking so that it could take swift action.
