The Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria, a faith-based organisation, gathered on Monday at the Ansar-ud-deen Mosque in Maitama, Abuja, to pray for national security, peaceful coexistence, and the socio-economic stability of the nation.

During the event, prayers were also offered for the success of President Bola Tinubu’s administration and for leaders across various levels of government in Nigeria.

Dr Musa Olaofe, the Chief Imam of the Abuja branch, explained the importance of citizens’ diligent efforts in fostering peaceful coexistence and the advancement of the country.

He said that the purpose of the special prayer session was to contribute to the nation’s progress and development while seeking divine wisdom and guidance for its leaders.

“Today is a special day to pray for Nigeria. As believers, we are not perturbed over the current situation because we believe strongly in Almighty Allah, and we know that in no distant time, Nigeria will overcome the predicaments.

“We believe strongly that with this prayer, Allah will guide our leaders right and eliminate the pocket of challenges confronting us as a nation,” he said.

He enjoined citizens to desist from cursing their leaders.

“We should continue to pray for them and say positive things about our country,“ he said.
