In Dode village, Mangu Hallei Ward of Mangu Local Council, Plateau State, four men met a tragic end near a military checkpoint. Eyewitnesses reported the presence of stern-looking armed soldiers at the checkpoint, though the exact circumstances leading to the killing of the four men remain unclear.

Despite efforts to gather information, the Military Media Information Officer of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), Capt. Oya James, failed to provide details by press time, leaving the community and the public in suspense. The villagers, who discovered the lifeless bodies while passing by, refrained from questioning the soldiers, expressing fear and hesitation.

An anonymous army officer acknowledged hearing a similar account but lacked specific details. Concurrently, the Community Department of the Police Public Relations Office reported the disappearance of 92-year-old Joseph Gwom, a retired Army Staff Sergeant, from Filin Atili near Dogon Dutse. Gwom, a Berom soldier without tribal marks, was last seen near Chwelnyap Primary School in Nasarawa Gwong, Jos North Local Council, walking with crutches.
