Lawmaker donates 110 laptops to Jos University Teaching Hospital staff

NEWS DIGEST–Member representing Bassa/Jos North federal constituency, Hon (Dr) Suleiman Yahaya Kwande has donated 110 laptops with E-learning suites to the academic and non academic staff of Jos University Teaching Hospital, JUTH.

The Hon. Member, who visited the JUTH in Jos on Tuesday, stated that the visit was to formally hand over the gadget (laptops) to the management of JUTH for onward distribution to the beneficiaries. Stressing that the project is aimed at providing a platform for teaching, learning, research and development.

According to Hon. Kwande, the objective is to encourage the use of I.C.T in academic development and facilitate the easier access to intellectual resources globally. Adding that, he is pursuing another developmental project to the hospital which hopefully is going to be realized soon.

The lawmaker finally congratulated the beneficiaries and urge them to make good use of the gadget for the betterment of the facility and its patients.

Reacting to the gesture, the Chief Medical Director of JUTH Prof. Edmund Banwat thanked Hon. Kwande for his unrivalled sense of philanthropy stressing that this gesture came at the right time when a lot of his staff are in need.

He commend him for his tireless effort at bringing developmental project to his constituents, acknowledged the fact that the laptops and E-learning suites will enhance the productivity of the staff and promised that the gadgets will be used judiciously.

After the presentation of the document, the lawmaker handed over the laptops to the CMD.

This is sequel to Hon. Kwande’s training and empowerment programme done last week which saw the training of 25 constituents in I.C.T skill and the distribution of laptops to participants.
