The Kogi government announced on Saturday that it had finalized plans to waive internal and external examination fees going forward for all future state administrations.

Wemi Jones, the state’s commissioner for education, science, and technology, made this statement at a meeting of the national executive committee of the North Central Confederation of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) in Lokoja.

In November 2023, the Kogi government declared that all students, from primary to secondary school, will receive free education.

The state government’s funding of students’ internal and external exam costs was a crucial component of the scheme.

According to Mr. Jones, the Kogi government would be required to cover the costs of both internal and external examinations for students enrolled in public schools within the state if the bill was approved.

In order to implement the plans of the state government that are intended to provide Kogi’s inhabitants with high-quality education, he congratulated the state’s ANCOPSS.

Mr. Jones said that the state governor, Yahaya Bello’s dedication to bringing back education in Kogi would have been necessary for all the achievements in the field of education. He referred to Bello as God’s Messiah.
