Kogi State Assembly Votes to Deploy 1,050 Hunters Amid Security Concerns

The Kogi State House of Assembly has approved hiring 1,050 hunters to improve security in the state. This decision was made during their meeting in Lokoja on Wednesday.

They agreed to a request from the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Salami Ozigi Deedat, to recruit 50 hunters per Local Government Area.

Speaker Aliyu Umar Yusuf acknowledged the state’s security challenges and lack of enough personnel, which prompted the decision.

The legislators unanimously supported the recruitment, with the payment of hunters’ salaries to be handled by the local government Caretaker Chairmen.
