The Katsina State Government has announced a ban on all types of large gatherings at night.

The directive by the state commissioner of information and culture, Bala Salisu Zango, said the ban has immediate effect.

Zango said the directive encompasses both religious and social gatherings, with the exception of obligatory prayers.

“The Katsina state government has banned all types of night large gatherings. This includes religious and social large public gatherings with exception of obligatory prayers,” Zango stated.

He added, “In the case of gatherings during the daytime, when it becomes necessary to hold their permission must be thought from the Police Divisional Office within the local government area, where the gathering will take place.”

The Katsina State Government, therefore, warned the general public against flouting the directive, stating that violators would face the full wrath of the law.
