Kano Govt Sets Up Medical Clinic for Pilgrims in Makkah

The Kano State Government has set up a medical clinic in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to ensure adequate healthcare for its pilgrims. This initiative, disclosed by Ibrahim Shuaibu, the Head of the Media Team for Kano State Pilgrims and spokesperson for the Deputy Governor, aims to complement the efforts of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

The clinic is intended to provide necessary medical attention to Kano State’s pilgrims during their stay. The State Amirul Hajj and Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Gwarzo, is scheduled to visit the clinic upon his arrival from Madinah to evaluate the commitment and effectiveness of the state pilgrim board in supporting the pilgrims.

According to Ibrahim, the Coordinator of Health Matters for the State Pilgrims Board, Binta Yusuf revealed that approval has been given for the clinic, which will operate in House Number 5 in Makkah.

“NAHCON officials have visited the site and given their approval for the clinic to commence operation,” she said.

Binta noted that Governor Yusuf had earlier sponsored a team of 11 health professionals, led by Prof Abdurrahman Sheshe, to provide medical care to the state’s pilgrims, adding that the establishment of the clinic is a further demonstration of the state government’s commitment to the welfare of its citizens in the holy land.

She noted that Kano is the only state in Nigeria that NAHCON allowed to open a clinic for its pilgrims in Makkah.
