Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, CFR, the Emir of Zazzau, has given his approval for his first son Abdullahi Ahmed Bamalli to take over as the new Walin Zazzau.

This came after the death on Sunday of Engineer Aminu Umar, the former head of the Ikara District and Walin Zazzau, following a brief illness.

After Madaki and Magajin Gari, the titles of Wali and Madaki, respectively, are the third in heirachy among district heads positions held by royal princes in the Zazzau emirate.

The title was previously owned by the late Walin Zazzau, Halliru, the great-grandfather of Abdullahi Bamalli, according to a statement made public by the emirate’s media and publicity officer, Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai.

The statement also stated that the Emir had given his approval for Engineer Sani Galadima Umar, who was appointed as the new Yariman Zazzau. Sani Galadima Umar was the younger brother of the late Walin Zazzau, Engineer Aminu Umar.

Remember that Alhaji Munir Jafaru was the previous Yariman Zazzau who was later given the title of “Madaki Zazzau” by the emir.

Walin Zazzau, the Emir’s first son, was trained as a software engineer at Coventry University in the United Kingdom. He has held positions at Etisalat and the Central Bank of Nigeria.

“Despite his illustrious background, Abdullahi Ahmed Bamalli remains focused on serving his community. His position as the Walin Zazzau is therefore a testament to his commitment to upholding tradition, promoting unity, and fostering unity and progress in Zazzau Emirate. In addition, Abdullahi is married with a son.”

“The date for the turbanning of the New Wali and Yariman Zazzau will be announced at a later time.” The statement added.
